Wisconsin Swing 2025 Leadership and Coaches
Dana MacKenzie—Swing Owner and 15u National Coach:
Dana founded Wisconsin Swing 20 years ago, and built the program into one of the top programs in the Midwest year in and year out. Dana is the former coach at Waunakee High School, where he lead the Warriors to 12 conference championships, 3 state tournament appearances and 300 wins. Dana has coached teams on and off during Swing’s 20 year run, and will be coaching Swing’s top 15u team in 2025.
Matt Bredesen—Boys’ Basketball Director and 17u and 16u National Coach:
Matt joined Wisconsin Swing in the spring of 2011 as a coach. In 2016 he became assistant High School Director. In 2021 he became the Boys’ High School Director, and in 2024 he has become the youth director as well. Matt is currently the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach at Janesville Parker. At Parker he set the school record for wins in a season in 2020-21, has lead the team to their highest finishes in the Big 8 in 40 years in 2021-22 and 2022-23. Coach Bredesen lead his 2022 17u Swing team to a 53-8 record, NY2LA Association runner-up finish, and Bigfoot Las Vegas Classic Championship. Matt will be coaching Wisconsin Swing’s top 17u and 16u National teams in 2025.
Boomer Chwala—17u and 16u National Coach:
Boomer joined Wisconsin Swing as a coach in 2024. Boomer had a highly decorated career at Lake Mills High School playing, then played at Northland College. Boomer served as Boys’ Varsity Assistant at Fort Atkinson High School. Boomer will serve as an assistant coach at Sun Prairie West High School in 2024-25. Boomer will coach the 17u and 16u second National teams for the 2025 season.
Kenny Bosch—16u National Coach:
Kenny has coached Wisconsin Swing for 8 seasons. He coached a Swing team from the Milwaukee area for 7 years, this season he will coach a mix of Milwaukee and Madison athletes on our second 16u National Team. Kenny has served as Head Coach at West Allis Hale High School, and an assistant coach at Muskego and New Berlin Eisenhauer.
Alex Easterday—15u National Coach:
Alex is entering his 2nd year coaching Wisconsin Swing. Alex played Wisconsin Swing in 2015 and 2016 for Coach Bredesen. Alex played at Elkhorn, where he is Elkhorn’s all time leading scorer. Alex then went on to play 2 seasons at Madison College. After Madison College, Alex returned to Elkhorn where he was an assistant coach in the program he grew up in. Alex has since relocated to Madison area, and joined the Swing coaching staff. Alex will coach our 2nd 15u National team and assist Coach Bredesen with the to 16u National Team in 2025
Ryan Benish—17u National Coach:
Ryan is a longtime assistant coach at Lake Mills High School. Ryan also previously coached at Watertown. Ryan played at Minnesota State-Mankato. Ryan joined the Swing coaching staff in 2024, where he coached the top 16u National Team with Matt Bredesen. Ryan will be coaching the top 17u National team with Coach Bredesen again during the 2025 Swing Season.
Kyle Koker—17u and 16u Regional Coach:
Kyle is an Assistant Coach at Janesville Parker High School. He joined the Swing staff in 2024, coaching 16u and 15u Regional teams. Kyle played at Janesville Parker and UW-Rock County. He has been active in the youth basketball program in Janesville, prior to joining the High School staff. Coach Koker will coach our 17u and 16u Regional teams for 2025.
Jacob Miller—17u Regional Coach
Jacob has coached Swing for 2 years. He played Swing for Coach Bredesen in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Jacob Played at Waunakee, and Edgewood College for 4 years. Jacob then moved to Michigan for a job, and coached in Michigan while there. Upon returning to Madison he joined the Swing Staff. Jacob will be coaching a 17u Regional Team in 2025.
McClain Steffens–15u Regional Coach
McClain was Jacob Miller’s assistant coach in 2024. McClain played 4 years of college basketball at Edgewood College with coach Miller. McClain will will be coaching a 15u Regional team this season and helping Coach Miller with 17u Regional Team in 2025.
